Major investment gives further boost to Driver Hire’s franchise network

17 November 2016

Franchisees at Driver Hire, the leading transport & logistics recruitment business, are benefiting from a £1m investment from their franchisor.

The investment includes the development and roll-out of dhOps X, Driver Hire’s new core operations system. Driver Hire has also invested substantially in developing dh Licence Check, the online driving licence verification service, and a set of eLearning modules for commercial drivers. Each system contributes to a substantially upgraded and more integrated service for customers.

At the same time Driver Hire has also announced two senior-level appointments as part of its transition to a technology-led business. Interim IT director John Keelan-Edwards has been appointed on a permanent basis as Driver Risk Management and Group Technology Services Director. Meanwhile, Andy Hibbert, previously Group Commercial and Sales Director at 24/7 Recruitment, has been appointed as Network Development Director.

Commenting on these important developments, Chris Chidley, Driver Hire’s Chief Executive Officer said: “Average rate of turnover at a Driver Hire franchise is already well ahead of the industry average. Our aim is to continue this trend, helping our franchisees to grow their businesses through the development of an even broader range of services which they can offer to clients. The appointments of John and Andy will provide higher levels of expertise and support to our network ensuring that franchisees get full value for their franchise fee.”

Driver Hire’s franchise network enjoyed an all time record month In September. Buoyant trading has continued in October with several high profile customers selecting Driver Hire as their recruitment partner. ”Our recent outstanding performance means that we’re moving into our peak Christmas trading period with high levels of confidence,” Chris concludes.
