Care Franchise Riding High

11 November 2010

Caremark East Riding has been officially launched by Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alan Johnson.

The East Riding  Caremark Franchise  has already created 60 jobs and hopes to create at least 150 more as the business grows. Without focused, comprehensive support from the largest, most expert and experienced support team in  care franchising , a business launch on this scale could never have been possible.

Mr Johnson, MP for West Hull and Hessle said in his radio interview:

“It’s great to create extra jobs, but even greater to have good quality jobs, what Caremark are doing is to ensure that they are providing good levels of pay in a sector where it is notorious for low pay and bad conditions.

"They’re turning that around by providing good levels of pay and good conditions, recognising that for the people being cared for that actually feeds through to the Care that they are receiving. If the staff are motivated and happy and content they’ll provide a much better service and providing a high quality service is what Caremark are all about.

“People want a life not a service and that’s going to be increasingly important as people are healthier and living longer.

“Caremark’s Ethos is so good, if you just talk to any of the people who work for them who’ve been in Adult Social Care all their lives they’ll say that this is a really good company to work for.

Caremark (East Riding) uses the advanced Caremark systems to provide a range of modern, home-based personal care and support services to older people and also to people of all ages and needs.

With no previous experience in care, franchise owners Graham and Karen Precious have worked very closely with Caremark since their appointment drawing on the experience of the team. Mrs Precious said: "We are experiencing tremendous demand and we urgently need to recruit high quality staff to deliver a range of care services.

Mrs Precious said: "The introduction of individual, personal budgets is transforming the way care services are delivered and also the range of services which are available and Caremark is at the forefront of this change.

"We provide full training so experience is not critical but being a caring and considerate person is.

"We provide different levels of personal care and support all of which are designed to enable our clients to lead independent lifestyles in the comfort of their own homes and within the community.

"This is an exciting time to be involved in the care franchise sector and the people who come to work for us will gain great satisfaction in helping to improve the quality of people's lives."
